Some issues for better understanding of FWC

Hi Isalist...

I have some questions regarding the Firewall Client:

Who plays the "main part" in permitting which application can communicate
with the outside world? The "Protocol Rule" or the "Application Settings" in
Client configuration?

When there is a protocol rule which permits connecting from a certain LAT
but no application settings for this app were explicitly made, is the app able
to connect to outside? I mentioned a strange behaviour on my client which
directs in this way.

When testing around with the app settings: when does the FWC gets the new
config? I thought it would get it when clicking on "Update" in the dialog box?
Is this correct? Or do I have to wait for 60 minutes?

Furthermore the article "ISA Clients Part 3 - The Firewall Client" is not
really clear to me. E.g. what does "P" "L" or "E" for the name resolution mean?
The whole Values for the different Keys and what they mean is not mentioned
in the article.

I hope Mr. Shinders book is coming soon, maybe this makes configuring the
FWC more clear to me!!

Regards
