That setting affects any file type considered to be "executable", like
script, exe, co,, etc...

Hello,

It turns out that this was caused by my IIS server's Content Expiration
being set to zero. The strange thing is that it only effected certain
file types.
.ps files were one of those types. Others like PDFs were just fine.
Strange....

Just reset the file associations to open it with whatever you like.

Subject: [isalist] Slightly off topic (PS Files)

http://www.ISAserver.org

Hello,

I have run into a problem with .ps files and IE. I used to be able to
open thease files directly on system with either Adobe Acrobat or
Ghostview installed. Now whenever I attempt to download such files I get
an error saying that the application can not open the file. I can save
the file to disk and then open it no problem. I was just curious if
anyone was aware of a recent change in IE that would cause this
behavior. I searched for info on such a change but I don't see anything
specific.

When I attempt to open the file I get an error message indicating that
filename[1].ps can't be opened. The actual filename is filename.ps
without the [1].

Thanks for any info or pointers.
