I've seen bad RAM/L1/L2/L3 cache cause service failures, but it'd be random
and any service, not just ISA. If you're going to look at hardware for the
issue, I'd follow Ara's and Shawn's advice and check the hard drive. Or if
you are mirroring HDD's, is your caching problem during peak time that your
mirrored drives are taking to long to write out or that your RAID controller
cache is filling up and you have a faulty RAM chip on there. Or, change your
hardware controller to write-through and not write-back. If you're using
write-back and have no battery on the RAID card, that's a big no-no. Or,
using hard drive onboard cache with RAID controller is a big no-no too.
Gotta get that disabled!

Sounds like possible cache corruption. Delete you cache and have ISA
rebuild it. Then see if your problem comes back.

Hi,

Could someone suggest me how to resolve the following issue on the ISA
Server,

ISA Proxy service terminates once every week, giving out an error message on
the event viewer saying "proxy service terminated unexpectedly" I also see
some errors pertaining to caching, a few minutes before this termination.

The current cache size is 512 Mb. Service Pack 2 has been installed.
Also, the ISA server is working only on caching mode and not as Firewall.

Are there some settings I need to change in the caching properties to
overcome this issue

Request you to please respond with your valuable suggestions

Regards
Arun
