What kind of KVM was he using, a normal PS2 and monitor cable on, or one
using TCP/IP?

Help !!
I am testing ISA Server in cache only mode. Everything seemed to be working
fine until I conected to the server via a KVM switch. Now its telling me my
web proxy services are 'unavailable' and I cannot run any reports. Could
anybody please point me in the right direction as to why services suddenly
become 'unavailable'. I'm only blaming the KVM because everything seemed
fine beforehand.

Many thanks

John

Well I just bucked up $245 to Microsoft to fix this problem on my ISA server
so I thought I would share the info.
To resolve the issue change the following regkey. Set it to match the
current

Windows 2000 FQDN for the server.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Fpc\Arrays\{array
guid}\Servers\{server

guid}\msFPCFQDN = "server.domain.com".

In this case: your fqdn (i.e. isa1.local.mccormackbaron.com)

Also, double check the following keys to make sure they have the hostname.
It

should just say "server" not "server.domain.com"

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Fpc\Arrays\{array guid}\msFPCName =

"server"

In this case: your netbios name (i.e. isa1)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Fpc\Arrays\{array
guid}\Servers\{server

guild}\msFPCName = "server"

In this case: your netbios name (i.e. isa1)

I hope this helps.. Remember to always export your config and reg keys
before editing your registry.
