Do you have the good Doctor's book, ISA Server and Beyond? I think the
correct setup is in there.

Yeah, I am wondering what the correct configuration is supposed to be. I am
seeing 3 different scenarios now. When I first got ISA Server a couple of
years ago, the instructions were to have the ISA Server route incoming email
to a virtual SMTP server, which would screen the message, then forward onto
the internal exchange server. To filter keywords, attachments, etc., you
would make the configuration changes on the ISA server.

Obviously I am missing something here. Maybe I need to start over and use
some other method?

I thought the message screener goes on ISA?

ISA Server is installed on Windows 2000 Server. (Server name is ISA)

SMTP Message Screener is installed on a separate Windows 2000 Server.
(Server name is LH6000)

Exchange 2003 is installed on Windows Server 2003. (Server name is
EXCHANGE2003)

Incoming email is sent from ISA to LH6000, then forwarded to EXCHANGE2003.

Isaserver.org instructions were followed for this configuration, but they
simply do not work. Nothing is filtered out.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
