Hi Thomas,

That's not a bad configuration! I have 18 boxes, however, they are not
on VMWARE nor VPC. Ok, though it will help heat my house this winter!
I'm going to setup a portable lab on my laptop and since I just got VPC
thought I would try that out and see if I can load, Windows 2003, Linux,
and Windows 2000 so that I can test migration situations.

I finally got ISA 2004!! Boy am I behind the curve on that one. So, it
will be nice messing around with migration scenarios and the web
services I've created to move configuration information around to each
box.

Joseph

Hi Joseph,

I prefer VMware because I've been using it ever since it was in
pre-beta. Its always done what I've wanted it to do and its one of the
few applications that I've paid for every upgrade :-)

That's not to knock Vpc. I can't know it because I haven't used it much.
In fact, the performance seems a bit better than VMware, although the
networking from anything but the simplest scenarios is problematic for
me -- but then again, it could be that I just don't understand it.

The machine getting those four VMs only have 1 GB of memory and a puny
1.8GHz P4. But it does pretty good. 12 more VMs will go on two GSX
servers on different machines in the lab. So the entire test lab will
have 16 'boxes'.

Hi Thomas,
Do you like vmware better the Virtual pc 2004/5? And, what is the
configuration of your machine? Thank you,

Joseph
