OT FYI: Banking websites

Information for anyone having problems reaching certain banking sites using
IE on Windows XP PRO, Wells Fargo in particular.
1. Run updates, including Q324929, Q810847 and Q813951.
2. MTU size on client must be smaller than that of any firewall you are
going through. Example, if the firewall is set to 1452 outgoing, client MTU
must be no larger than 1448.
While normally we only worry about MTU size on PPPoE connections or when
dealing with router problems when setting up VPN, it appears Wells Fargo
changed something about 2 1/2 weeks ago. (Even then, that is usually only
done on the firewall or router.)
This problem has only been verified on Windows XP. Windows 2000 server does
not seem to be affected when the updates are installed.
I spent 3 days working on this with MS Support.
