This seems to be a unique, you need to verify two things, the NIC definition in Device Manager on your computer and the physical end, you mentioned You had switches, are they set to auto sense the interface speed and how about half and full duplex modes and don't forget that it might be a patch cable, you might want to plug that interface into another hub just for testing, do you have the latest NIC driver installed? I listed a few things to get you started, something about Windows that caused me a problem when I first started using 2000, in the device manager Snap In under view, you can list all hidden devices, Windows wont remove the device definition after you replace the card rather it hides it, make sure you view all hidden devices and remove all the definitions that you are not using. -----Original Message----- From: Luigi Grieco [mailto:l.grieco@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Friday, April 04, 2003 3:07 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] LAN cable UNplugged-plugged-Unplugged-plugged.... http://www.ISAserver.org http://www.ISAserver.org hi to all. when i work at my isa server, i see my connection to lan goes up-down-up-dpwn-up-down... i don't understand why! my isa server is w2k server english, sp3, sp1 for isa, all windows critical update, 3 nic (1 public - 172.24.x.y/16 - 172.16.x.y/16 with problem...) all nic are 3com, 2 hd scsi mirrorin hardware (mylex). i tried to change the nic, but the problem is persistent :-( the cable of 172.16.x.y go to a switch (it same with no problem) any idea? thank you in advance, gg Free Trial Software: Monitor & Manage Web Use with SurfControl Web Filter for MS ISA Server http://www.surfcontrol.com/go/zisadl1 ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=isalist ISA Server Newsletter: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/newsletter.asp ISA Server FAQ: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Exchange Server Resource Site: http://www.msexchange.org/ Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this ISAserver.org Discussion List as: NVuba@xxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub') Free Trial Software: Monitor & Manage Web Use with SurfControl Web Filter for MS ISA Server http://www.surfcontrol.com/go/zisadl1 ------------------------------------------------------ List Archives: http://www.webelists.com/cgi/lyris.pl?enter=isalist ISA Server Newsletter: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/newsletter.asp ISA Server FAQ: http://www.isaserver.org/pages/larticle.asp?type=FAQ ------------------------------------------------------ Exchange Server Resource Site: http://www.msexchange.org/ Windows Security Resource Site: http://www.windowsecurity.com/ Windows 2000/NT Fax Solutions: http://www.ntfaxfaq.com ------------------------------------------------------ You are currently subscribed to this ISAserver.org Discussion List as: gmaks@xxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send a blank email to $subst('Email.Unsub')
