In all seriousness, as you may remember, I was already have some
"DirectAcesss" problems that affected my users. There were a couple
of sites that we required access to for processing reasons that we
couldn't get to... I was not willing to put my users through any
additional pains. I'm glad it's all out in the open now ;)

You're not reading the list completely. I posted yesterday that the issues reported with SP2 have a hotfix available. Call PSS and ask for the fix for KB 915405.
