What? He said he still gets the email just that voting and acceptance options
aren't available. :) Then he mentioned it works from some external clients but
not others.

So, I thought he may be talking about Outlook functionality across Outlook
versions.

Kind of like sticking an .xlsx (Excel 2007) document in SharePoint 2003 (WSS
2.0) and then wonder why SharePoint doesn't display an Excel icon for the
document. :)

Or am I missing something and just looking silly with my feet in my mouth. :)

It's been awhile since I've played with Outlook XP and prior but I don't think
those versions of Outlook incorporated Voting and Preview Pane Acceptance
options. I think Outlook 2003 was the first to offer those, although, I am a
bit fuzzy about Outlook XP.

For those on the sidelines (you know who you are), "belay" in this context
means (Rosanne Rosanna-Danna voice) "never mind"...

Belay this request for now J

I just realized it does work from some clients, so will try to find more about
the client(s) it does not work from, maybe it is their email setup.

thanks.

"They don't work for me from an external source" is a bit on the vague side.

It would help immensely if you would:

1. state how OL connects to Exch via ISA:

    RPC/HTTP

    Native RPC (MAPI)

SMTP from a remote Exch server

2. indicate the user experience for the

    sending user

    receiving user

3. Provide some indication of OL, ISA or Exch logging that indicates some
failure state

Well then. That's different.

Are you using the ISA SMTP Filter or Message Screener? If so, I am at a
loss. I haven't used that at all. I don't even know if it would be capable
of stripping out the voting/acceptance buttons and still leave the rest of
the message intact.

Yes, Outlook. It works going out to an external source, but not coming
in. It works internally. I don't think it is being spammed, as I still
get the email, there are just no voting/acceptance options available.

Are you talking about meeting requests in outlook?

If so, also take a look at what you got blocking spam.

Does ISA (2004) block Outlook meeting requests from outside the domain?
They
don't work for me from an external source. If so, is it something that
can
be allowed without going into hork mode?
