Hi

Nope ...Still using a single NIC
But please suggest me..are 2 NICs required? The ISA proxy and other machines
are in a single subnet ( we do have multiple subnets connecting in through
PC Routers)

I am using this ISA only for caching and filtering and access control is
taken care of by our Firewalls and Websense.

Thanks

Arun

Subject: [isalist] ISA Proxy Server started terminating too !!

http://www.ISAserver.org

Hi All

Our ISA server is used only for caching and Internet filtering is done by
Websense.
We upgraded recently to ISA just because the MSP service used to terminate
frequently (once in 3 days) but 4 after ISA was installed the ISA proxy
service too terminated today. and here is one of the event description from
the event viewer.

The initial cache size was 250 Mb. I increased it to 512 guessing that it
could be due to the cache size limitation.I haven't enabled "active caching"
option too.

Could anyone help out on this ? is this a common observation?

Thanks

Arun

 Event Type: Error

Event Source: Microsoft ISA Server Web Proxy

Event Category: None

Event ID: 14176

Date: 9/2/2004

Time: 4:51:04 PM

User: N/A

Computer: ISA

Description:

Disk cache E:\urlcache\Dir1.cdat failed to initialize. Some errors were
encountered when ISA Server restored specific data cache files. ISA Server
will now attempt to recover these files. These errors may have occurred
because there was not enough time to complete all necessary shutdown
operations, when ISA Server was previously shut down. To avoid this in
future, you can increase the value of the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\WaitToKillServiceTimeout
registry key. Identify the reason for cache failure by examining previous
recorded events, or the error code. Check that the disk is connected and
that it is not corrupt. (Internal code: 503.6813.4.0.2161.50)
