Array of ISA? If you've got two of them anyway....... You've paid for
both licenses anyway, correct? Dish out for EE and array away!

Subject: [isalist] ISA 2004 Offline Spare?

http://www.ISAserver.org

Hi all,

Am i correct in thinking that typically to build an offline spare for an
ISA 2004 Standard Edition the following should work:

1) Have ISA installed onto spare offline machine, with latest backup
file from production ISA imported.

2) In event that production ISA experiences failure (hardware, etc.),
swap Ethernet cables from production ISA to offline spare, ensure IP
addresses on NICs are same on offline spare, NIC order as well(?).

3) Reset Production ISA server Machine Account in domain, join spare
ISA to domain with original ISA production server name. Reboot for
changes to take effect.

4) Finished!?

Would there be other methods/scenarios to consider?

Thanks!

Edgardo
