Hello again, I ran some tests today without active caching enabled, and
http caching set to normal. The app that was previously freezing when
connected to a secure ssl server worked fine. I believe that because the
ssl site is using reverse proxy caching that screwed things up. I know
this in not optimal for my active caching to be disabled but at this
point I need this application to work without freezing. Does anyone have
a similar situation where IE6 sp1 was freezing and they adjust their
caching settings?
Thanks,
Peter

Hi Peter,

Let us know what you find out. A lot of people report various issues
with XP and networking, so a solution would always be appreciated! :)

Thanks!
Tom

Hi Tom, no we are not hosting the SSL web server, our WinXP Pro IE6 sp1
and W2K IE 6(no sp1) are accessing the SSL web server thru our ISA
firewall. Our W2K clients are not having any problems but our WinXP Pro
IE6 sp1 clients have constant freezing after about 90 seconds of working
with the ssl web site. At this point I am examing packets that I have
captured using both clients. Keep you posted.
Thanks,
Peter

Hi Peter,

Sounds vaguely familiar, but I can't pin down what it was that caused
the problem. What if you force Basic authentication on the OWA
directories? That is to say, remove the checkmarks from the checkboxes
of all the authentication types except for basic on the OWA directories
at the OWA site.

HTH,
Tom

Hi, does anyone have an experience with all previous IE versions working
but not IE6 SP1? I have a WAN and various users access an outside SSL
site all access was working completely but now the updated browsers (IE6
SP1) freeze part way thru the transactions to the one main site. I have
tried various combinations of caching and am now looking at the frames
captured in NetMon. What is so different in the latest service pack? I
have been told it is my IE6 SP1 plus ISA problem, and that I should call
Microsoft. Not yet...I am sure I can lick this one, any suggestions from
the gurus.
TIA
Peter Forster
