Subject: [isalist] GFI WebMonitor for ISA Server 4.0 BETA 1

http://www.ISAserver.org <http://www.isaserver.org/>
-------------------------------------------------------

Hi all,

GFI is pleased to announce the release of GFI WebMonitor for ISA Server
4.0, BETA 1, build 20070719.

================================================================
What is new in GFI WebMonitor for ISA Server 4.0?
================================================================

To start off with, GFI WebMonitor for ISA Server 4.0 will be available
in 3 editions:

- A WebFilter Edition, which includes URL Filtering & Website
Categorization.

- A WebSecurity Edition, which includes anti-virus, anti-phishing and
spyware detection.

- A UnifiedProtection Edition, which packages both WebFilter &
WebSecurity editions.

The new features available with the above editions include:

WebGrade Database: GFI WebMonitor 4 comes with a human-reviewed site
categorization database. This database allows users to set up filtering
policies (based on user, group or IP) that specify who can access
websites of which category. Websites can either be blocked, or else
allowed through with an appropriate warning or notification.

Time-based Filtering: Each of the filtering policies may be configured
to work on a time schedule. This means that administrators can configure
the product to allow users or groups to access news and entertainment
related web sites outside of working hours or in a specific time window,
for example.

Anti-Phishing: GFI WebMonitor 4 protects the users from the potential
risks of social engineering by blocking access to phishing websites.
This is done through the use of an auto-updatable database of phishing
URLs.

Anti-Spyware: Apart from the multiple AV engines, GFI WebMonitor also
scans user downloads to block spyware infected files.

Quarantine: Potentially hazardous files can now also be quarantined,
apart from the option of being blocked.

Download Control Policies: The administrator has the ability to create
multiple user, group, or IP based policies in order to block particular
file-types from being downloaded by particular users.

Filetype-based AV Scanning Policies: The administrator can now define
which AV engine is used to scan what real file types.

Whitelist & Blacklist: Any URL, user or IP can be inserted
permanently/temporarily to these lists in order to bypass all
WebFiltering and WebSecurity policies.

Bandwidth Monitoring: Through the user and site bandwidth monitoring
features the administrator has the ability to track download and upload
traffic and the number of URL hits over time, either on a user basis or
else on a website basis. Real-time monitoring may be achieved through
drilldown reporting enhanced with graphs within the User Interface.

Revamped User Interface: The new GFI WebMonitor 4.0 web based
configuration user interface has been revamped for more convenient
real-time monitoring and user friendly configuration.

Known Issues

The following is a list of known issues in GFI WebMonitor for ISA Server

- Upgrade over GFI WebMonitor for ISA Server 3.0 is not supported. GFI
WebMonitor 3.0 must be uninstalled first.

- The web based configuration user interface will fail to load unless
GFI WebMonitor 4 is installed in the system drive.

- A more user friendly page is yet to be served to a user for whom
browsing of a website is blocked, for a smoother user experience.

- Policy infringement notifications to offending users are not being
sent when the option is enabled.

- From ISA server computer, http://monitor.isa <http://monitor.isa/> access
doesn't work and
'Save to disk' from status window doesn't allow user to save, UNLESS a
protocol rule in ISA server is present to allow access from localhost
and internal to localhost on HTTP & HTTPS.

- GFI WebMonitor 4 Service will fail to install in the following
scenario: WebMonitor is installed on an ISA machine without Active
Directory and the administrator chooses not to use domain\administrator
or .\administrator as credentials during installation.

- Notifications for successful automatic anti-virus updates are not
being sent.
