Firewall Client keeps asking for Authentication

Still have this problem:
SBS 2000 / XP Client
Firewall client keeps needing to be refreshed. IPconfig shows the client
is correctly connected to the server as well as being locatable in
"Network."
Dual Adapter setup:
Company.com on the external (addressed from ISP)
Company.local on the internal (from DHCP)
Pinging produces the correct address from either .com or .local. NSlookup
shows local.
