Hi Amy,
 
The firewall client isn't required to use active or pasv FTP. The FTP
access application filter handles the secondary connections for the
SecureNAT client.

It depends. Are you saying that it worked in the past with ISA
installed? Or are you posting here because you installed ISA and now it
doesn't work? If the later, make sure you have the firewall client
installed on your PC.

We are using SmartFTP and it has worked fine in the past to download and
upload to ftp sites. Now it is not working. Get "unknown error".

I can access ftp://ftp.microsoft.com using my browser.

any ideas?
