Dear Jim, Don't you think E-mail Install prerequisites of TMG per http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee207141.aspx confusing? Also please confirm TMG will act as SMTP relay server when E-mail protection is enabled, no need to install/configure SMTP service under Windows 2008. May I understand it is for protection of any type of backend SMTP server? If it is ture, I think Help in TMG 2010 or http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee207141.aspx about Install prerequisites for e-mail projection is a little confusing because it applies scenario of TMG and Exchange combination only. TMG 2010 e-mail projection shall not require Exchange Edge role and/or FSE as essential components, isn't it? Besides, If Exchange Edge Transport role is deployed on TMG box and FSE is installed, will FSE take over contents scanning role by using FSE's AV scanning engines instead of the one in TMG box? please clarify. Thanks, Roy Tsao
