I seriously doubt that this has anything to do with the server name. 502/12202 is normally due to other issues, like IP changes, plug-ins failing, etc. Check your application event logs for failures. -----Original Message----- From: William Holmes [mailto:wtholmes@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, March 10, 2005 5:29 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] DNS and automatic proxy detection http://www.ISAserver.org Hello, I have a strange problem. I had an ISA server who's windows name was not the same as its fqd name. So I changed the DNS so they would be consistent. I then added a cname which pointed the old fqd name to the new fqd name. (I didn't what to rename the ISA server as that usually blasts things to pieces at least it does with exchange and a few other products). Now the server is working fine except for one issue. Normally we use automatic proxy detection with wpad.dat file that is published from ISA server. However I now receive the following error when I attempt to connect to internal websites: Error Code: 502 Proxy Error. The ISA Server denied the specified Uniform Resource Locator (URL). (12202) IP Address: xx.xx.xx.xx Date: 3/11/2005 1:01:00 AM Server: xxx.mydomain.com Source: proxy xxx is now equal to the Windows Name and the FQD name is correct. For some reason (I need to check with my DNS admin on this) my forward and reverse lookups are not consistent. That is I don't get the same information with a forward and a revese lookup. Will this cause ISA to balk?
