Hi Marc,

I like the way you think! :-)

Thanks!

Tom,
True, it does set defaults, however, most users have no need to open the
internet control panel at all, so it is(and should always be) disabled
via
gpo as well. :P

Marc,
Ha! Yes, excellent point. Though, from what I understand, preference
mode
sets defaults, but users can change them. I guess the same result would
be
found with Registry chances too. :-) Thanks!

You could create a GPO and set the IE settings to preference mode where
you
can set the advanced settings and force all machines affected by the
policy,
to use 1.1

Hi Ara,
You could create a .reg file and use the below:

You'll have to create custom registry settings under:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings
..as:
ProxyHttp1.1, REG_DWORD, 0x1
EnableHttp1_1, REG_DWORD, 0x1

And have them install the file on start up. Registry settings can be
configured using GPOs, so you wouldn't even need to script it.

HTH,
Tom

Tom,
Unfortunately I am not good in scripting so if someone has it, please
post
it here Thank you

Oh! For HTTP 1.1. I hope I didn't say there was a group policy setting
for
it, 'cause there ain't (at least I don't think there is). You can
configure
it in a log on script, though, which can be deployed via group policy.
Thanks!
Tom

Tom,
Regarding your article on
http://isaserver.org/pages/article_p.asp?id=1390 I can't find the group
policy for it. Is it possible to do or I am not looking hard?
Thank you
