Sorry about that, you mentioned that in the original post.

Is the pix blocking the ICMP messages?

Did you do everything in the Getting Started Guide? It describes a
configuration that allows outbound ICMP.

Sorry I don't understand what DSL connection?
We have a Leased Line, i.e permenent connection to our ISP.
