I know that AIB do support it on their debit cards. Bank of Ireland don't, on at least some of their credit cards.

It can be used with debit cards as well.

I would imagine that most main banks support Apple Pay at this stage.

Hi Tim, Tony,,

The issuer of the credit card, i.e. the bank, has to authorise that the card can use Apple Pay. Most credit cards now may have it; some do not. There is a point in the Apple Pay setup where your iPhone asks to scan your card, and it will then tell you whether your card can be used for Apple Pay or not.

If Apple Pay wasn't mentioned among the card's available features in the letter you got when your card was issued to you, then it's likely that you can't use Apple Pay with it.

Well, I think you have to provide a credit card when setting up your apple account?

So, that is used for purchases on the Appstore.

Technically speaking I'm not sure this is Apple Pay.

Apple Pay is the ability to pay for items in shops etc using your phone via contactless payment.

You set this up by going into the wallet app and adding a card there.
Note you might need sighted assistance for this unless you know all the details on the card.

Hi Tim,

Thank you, so while on the subject how do you create an ApplePay account or even how can we check if we have one or not?

Just in case anyone is wondering Apple firstly set up my Apple iPhone
account and so would have had my CC details

Hi Tony,

I imagine  you were asked for your finger print  instead of entering your

Being asked for a finger print doesn't indicate you are being charged for
anything.

Normally I get an email from apple pretty soon after any  transaction I
make on the apstore or within an app, which is a statement of what you
were charged.

Hi folk,

I'm wondering about ApplePay in the sense that how to know it it is set up
or not?

I installed a couple of items from the app store which I believed were
free but I was asked for my thumb print to finalise the transaction.

By the way I wanted the items so being charged wouldn't have bothered me
too much but of course want to know for sure whether I was or not.

I could indeed check for my credit card bill in time.

TIA,

Tony
