I don't know. But one problem that I see with the IPall is its inability to
save large documents. If portability is not an issue for you I would definitly
recommend Kurzweill 1000. You can download a demo copy and try it out for 30
days.

  Hi Louise,

Do you or anyone else know does the Eyepal read those smaller items you write
of?

Portability (unless the size of an elephant) is not an issue, certainly at
this stage.

  Thanks

  Tony

    Hello Tony,

I got the KNFB Reader. In my opinion the capabilities of this product are
greatly overstated. In spite of what others think about it, I think it has
a long way to go before it can perform very basic task. For instance, I was
unable to read medicine lables (here in Colombia medications come in boxes
not in bottles). I couldn't read invoices printed in small papers. The
orientation of the camera is very difficult to get in order to obtain a
good
    recognition.

In my opinion the best reading machine is Kurzweil 1000, but obviously
there
is the issue of portability. But if this is not an issue go for it.

The ipal is very very interesting but it is not as portable as the KNFB
    reader or the Textscout.

Regarding the Texscout, I played with its demo a few days ago. I think that
they have a very clever way to help you with the orientation of the camera.
What I dind't like about it was the voices it comes with. IN that respect
KNFB reader is better because it comes with Eloquence, which is my favorit
    voice.

Please feel free to ask more questions.

    Best regards,

    Luis
