Hi all, This past Sunday, Lynne and I went with two friends, Ellen and George, for a touch tour of the Tenement Museum down on Orchard Street. We visited an old tenement building that housed families who migrated here from various countries. The apartment we toured belonged to (the Moore family) who lived there in the 1860's. During the tour, we were shown the entire apartment, which consisted of the kitchen, one bedroom and the living room. The entire time I was there,I wondered if this family might be related to our friend don Moore. However, I decided that they weren't when our tour guide mentioned that they were Catholic. These tours are really terrific! We have been on several of them, visiting various apartments of families with different ethnic backgrounds. If any of you are in our fair city and would like to experience a little of what some of our ancestors went through, try one of these tours. You will find it most enlightening. Maria
