Rubin Museum of Art is a proud partner in Art Beyond Sight Awareness Month and is pleased to announce two free Verbal Imaging and Touch Tours being offered at the museum this month. Please read the description below and RSVP to 212.620.5000 x345 if you are interested in joining either the October 22 or October 29 tour. Reservations are required. Small groups are welcome to join either tour!

Taste of RMA: Verbal Imaging and Touch Tour
Friday, October 22 and October 29
4-5pm
Verbal Imaging and Touch Tours are one- hour in length and take visitors who are blind or visually impaired on a journey through the Himalayas, weaving together the culture, history, religion, and arts of the region.
RMA Guides are trained to lead highly descriptive verbal imaging and touch tours throughout the gallery floors. The tours present visitors with close, careful descriptions of artworks and allow participants to form visualizations of the artworks, touch objects including sculptures, art materials, wood blocks, and ritual implements, and visit the museum studio where they can hear sounds of traditional music and experience sacred aromas of the Himalayas through the use of incense.
