It's a term near and dear to my heart which I haven't heard or used in eons. And I take no offence.

Ah, I thought it was something new but I had a niggling suspicion. Yuck! Well, I'll certainly find out. Sometimes you'll get blinks who think any solution is acceptable. sigh

voice guide is that text to speech feature included with kindle 3 which has severely limited function, in my opinion. i'd be curious to see what this presentation has to say about it.

i was really excited for a minute and am now almost completely deflated....<sigh>

Kindle 3 And Voice Guide Are Up for Discussion, Monday, October 3, 2011

Newswire:

At lunch with a friend or relative, you are told enthusiastically about yet another new book you can?t wait to read. As you smile and say you can?t wait to read it yourself, you wonder how long it will be before you will. Kindle is out there but difficult to use.

Not any more. New innovations seem to happen every day. With the Voice Guide now available for purchase and use with the Kindle 3, you can download that book and discuss it with the person who told you about it very soon.

What is the voice guide? Where can it be purchased? Will it work with each addition of Kindle or only the Kindle 3?

In a world filled with technological advances faster than the speed of sound, we seem to spend the majority of our time learning to navigate new devices. If you groan at the thought, think of the possibilities of this one.

You will be able to download from millions of options available at Amazon. Tim Emmons will tell us how. Do you want to download books wirelessly? Tim will explain how that is done. How easy is it to set up speech. We will hear how to do that during this presentation. How do you register your voice guide with your Amazon account? Tim will make it easy. Is your computer filled with books from bookshare or other text files? With the voice guide, you will be able to read those too. As icing on an already delicious cake, Mr. Emmons will tell us where books can be downloaded for free. In a time not so long ago, our options and choices were limited. With the new Voice Guide, that is true no longer.

Join us for an exciting presentation that will be beneficial in your reading and downloading pleasure for years to come.
