T.P.A. (Torino Performance Art) è la prima edizione di un Festival dedicato
alla promozione e alla diffusione della Performance Art contemporanea nelle sue
pratiche più varie, sperimentali e indipendenti. L’obbiettivo è quello di
attirare l’attenzione sulla vivace, e spesso trascurata, comunità di artisti
che si dedicano a questa forma di espressione e di facilitare la connessione
tra questi e il pubblico.
Suddiviso in due sezioni, una sezione live e una di video performance, il
festival si svolgerà a Torino il 9-10-11 giugno e sarà preceduto da una serata
di preview che si terrà presso la Fondazione Pistoletto di Biella. Il festival
è totalmente autofinanziato.
Gli artisti sono stati selezionati tramite un bando internazionale e provengono
da differenti Paesi. Oltre ai lavori pervenuti tramite bando è stato
selezionato anche il progetto di una studentessa del workshop Between 2012
curato dai professori Monica Saccomandi e Gianfranco Costagliola dell’Accademia
di Belle Arti. Il progetto si avvale dell’ospitalità e della collaborazione
oltre che dell’Accademia di Belle Arti anche della Fondazione Pistoletto di
Biella. Sono coinvolte inoltre differenti realtà artistiche indipendenti
locali: Studio Stefano Giorgi, Bin 11, Collettiva dell’Arte.

Studio in Turin
T.P.A.(Turin Performance Art) is the first edition of a festival dedicated to
the promotion and dissemination of diverse, experimental and independent
contemporary performance art practices. The goal is to draw attention to the
lively and often overlooked community of artists who dedicate themselves to
this form of expression and to try and facilitate the connection between them
and the public. The festival is totally self-financed.
The festival will be held in Turin on the 9th -10th -11th of June and it will
be divided into a video section and into a live performance section. There will
also be a preview evening that will take place at the Pistoletto Foundation in
Biella on the 8th of June.
The artists were selected through an international call and come from different
countries, from all over the world. Besides the works that have been chosen
through the call it has been also selected a student’s project, who has
participated to a workshop called Between 2012 curated by two Professors,
Monica Saccomandi and Gianfranco Costagliola, of the Academy of Fine Arts in
Turin.
Beyond the Academy of Fine Arts the festival relies on the hospitality and the
cooperation of the Pistoletto Foundation in Biella. There are also involved
different independent artistic locations such as Stefano Giorgio’s art Studio,
Bin 11, Collettiva dell’arte.
