[Ilugc] unable to run rpm -ivh or any rpm command

hi everyone!
My problem of sound got solved with a command corresponding to "chmod
775".....and thanx for that...........yet again a new problem in
Debian ..........i am unable to run the "rpm" command and when i type
rpm -ivh <file> it says command "rpm " not found .wat should i do? and
how can i update and upgrade my linux?


AFAIK it's best not to use rpm on a Debian System.
Use apt-get instead.
