Hi Luggies how to assign root privilege to non-root user so that
he/she becomes sys admin during regular root user absence?
If this is a one time thing, why not change root password, give
the new password to the temporary root, and change it back when the
regular admin returns?
If it is an ongoing thing, sudo can achieve similar things -- the
difference is that you give and take away sudo rights as needed. Or
consider trusting the junior admin (I mean, if they mean to do harm,
they can do so when the cat is away).
