Pls let us know..
1. Your distro version(woody,sarge,sid)
2. Name & model of ur display adapter.
3. Mplayer version.
4. Source instalation or binary instalation of Mplayer.
5. Your processor model(like P4 1.6 or AMD Sempron 2400+ etc)
6. How about FPS in other players like xine,Totem etc.
7. Is it Mplayer or gMplayer(gui or command line).
That would give people trying to help you, some insight to ur problem...
