I personally prefer using Emacs + psgml. Psgml parses the
DTD, and then you have access to syntax high lighting, context
sensitive tag and attribute completion, automatic indentation and
insertion of balanced tags.
It is not WYSIWYG, and is not linked in to the W3C spec (I
just have that open in a browser to refer to). I do not find the lack
of WYSIWYG a drawback; and I like the fact that this makes writing
syntactically correct pages, and that I can use the same interface to
write other XML/SGML documents (like docbook material).
But no, this is not a dedicated html editor.
