[Ilugc] modprobe: Can't locate module char-major-81

hi ,

I use redhat linux 7.3 (2.4.18-3) .
I had compiled a kernel for 2.4.18-3 .
While i boot using this kernel it says 

<message-begin>
   modprobe: Can't locate module char-major-81
</message-begin>

On googling i came to know that this module is related with bttv(v4l) .
But i haven't enabled this option while configuring my kernel .

What i have to do to disable this warning message ?

help me out .
