Well, as there are several job reqs posted today, I'll post one too.
I manage the antispam operations at Outblaze (http://www.outblaze.com) -
we're a Hong Kong based company and do antispam filtering and/or email
hosting for some of the largest webmail / ISP services in the world
(such as mail.com in the USA, and rediffmail, indiainfo in India)
We're shortly setting up an office here in Madras and are recruiting a
few good people to start with. There's an initial requirement of two
freshers to do tier 1 email responses on our abuse desk [aka: receive
spam complaints from people about our users, and shut down the accounts
caught spamming.
The job will actually require a decent amount of competency in using
linux as a desktop, preferably some competence in using a console based
mail reader like mutt. Also, basic skills in shell, mysql etc to
automate certain of your tasks as you go on.
One absolute requirement is excellent spoken and written English
communication skills - by which I mean English that is standard,
grammatically correct, without either
1. Messenger / IRC spelling ("hai. how r u")
2. Outdated Wren and Martin style or "Indian business english" ("I will
revert back to you regarding this")
