Hi everyone:
I am having some trouble mounting a samba share.
This is the line from /etc/fstab:
//samba.bii.a-star.edu.sg/deepak /mnt/sambashare smbfs
credentials=/root/.smbpass,uid=1000,gid=100,rw 0 0
uid and gid refer to the normal user login on my machine (running on SuSE 9.1)
Directory /mnt/sambashare mounts with correct permissions, but
everything within that directory mounts with userid set to 2177.
The result is that I can create files within /mnt/sambashare but not
within any subdirectories. A brief listing:
deepak@ip4-138-v345:/mnt/sambashare> ls -la
total 6815748
drwxr-xr-x 1 deepak users 4096 2004-09-29 14:56 ./
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 80 2004-09-09 17:04 ../
-rw------- 1 2177 users 532 2004-09-27 17:25 .bash_history
-rw-r--r-- 1 2177 users 14 2004-09-02 14:27 .bash_profile
-rw-r--r-- 1 2177 users 14 2004-09-02 14:27 .bashrc
-rwxr--r-- 1 2177 users 8009 2004-09-17 10:12 commoncode.py*
[snip]
Any idea how to fix this?
Thanks,
Deepak.
