I have installed kubuntu 6.06 Dapper Drake. The bootloader has got installed
in mbr. How to install bootloader in root partition /dev/hda11(mine).
During installation
the there was no option. It was one of smoothest linux installation i ever
had.

iam a new linux user.iam having BSNL BROADBAND (400 mb plan).i am not able
to get connected to Internet using UTSTARCOM UT-300R.
i found some valuable documentation from ilguc friends, i followed the same.
i getting a linkup signal in my modem config. but still iam not able to
connect to internet.
i will be happy to get ur guidance in this regard.

Hi,
Where should I start to make my own linux distro?
From your existing Linux distro itself! You can either trydissecting your linux distro, to understand how packages
are being managed and then walk-through the installation
scripts to learn the steps involved in installing your own
distribution.
Once you are confident with how your existing distro
was packaged and installed, determine the goals for your
own distribution (in what way will your distro be different
from the others ?). Then start building packages that
should ideally fit into your distro, and if needed customize
the installer to suit your needs.
Alternately, you can start from here:
* http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/
It would be easier to create your own distro by remastering
existing live CDs. Try looking around for information from the following
sites:
* http://www.linux-live.org/
* http://www.knoppix.net/wiki/Knoppix_Remastering_Howto
There are many other sites and many more methods to create your
own distro. Everything depends on your exact requirement/goal.

some of the questions u should be able to answer below by asking yourself
1. why do u want to make a distro
2. what makes u to develop your own distro?
3. whats special in your distro u r building...
and many such things..
and then start with live cd remastering and then go for install CD
