the original meaning of LAMP was Linux Apache Mysql and Perl. Now it has a
generic meaning:
L - any operating system like Linux, BSD, Solaris etc
A - a webserver like apache, nginx, cherokee, lighttpd etc
M - a database like Postgresql, sqllite or Mysql
P - a scripting language like perl, python, ruby etc
