Hi,
I have been trying to install ffmpeg version 0.4.9-pre1. i used the command
./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-shared
This is the command given in the documentation.
it gives me an error saying
that 'avcodec.h : File not found'. but this file is
there under the folder /libavcodec. 'make' and
'make install' also give me some errors.
i downloaded this from sourceforge
and i need it for my project to convert raw audio to
mpeg-4 audio.

could you please tell me what is wrong
with this and how i can install it. i need to install it on
either a redhat 9 or a fedora core 3 system.
