Yes, those are definitely not suitable. Sure, we can all go all enterprisey
on this (trust me, I'm a J2EE refugee), but it would all result in one
thing: overkill. They might be wonderful for users who have no technical
knowledge, and need all those workflow, bpel and rules engines and what not
- but our needs are quite limited. Lets not build an ivory tower that we're
never gonna use (but I agree with versioning - and I think an scm like
svn/git/hg will do just fine).
Our basic requirements are quite limited, and well-defined. Why do we even
want to spend so much time discussing, setting up and implementing for who
knows how long, when we can have something up and running within the week?
We don't need fancypants stuff (to begin with). We just need a place that
gives straight-forward information, stays up, is easy to edit, and doesn't
attract spam bots by the truckloads. Since we were not able to provide for
such a simple requirement so far, I believe starting small and simple is a
good idea.
