Please ensure that mail generated from the site/domain is "proper" if
you generate mail at all. It is better not to have outgoing mail at
all than to have a mail service which works only sometimes.
A site which generates mail should satisfy (at least) the following
requirements.
1. Use a well-configured and well-maintained smtp daemon
like postfix/exim.
2. Use a well-defined return address for outgoing mail to
which bounces will go.
(You could send bounces to /dev/null but bounces _must_ be
accepted by the sending server).
3. A valid mail administrator address like postmaster@xxxxxxxx.
This means that you have to have some means to handle this
mailbox. If there is a problem with your mail server how is
someone to inform you about this otherwise?
Regards,
Kapil.
