Afaik, portalnmms and www are used for different connections -
Vodafone live! and Vodafone Mobile Connect respectively. Since you're
trying to access internet from a computer, you must have the latter.
Hence the suggestion.
If it's going to shed any light on the matter, the folks at the
vodafone call center don't know what wvdial is. ;)
