Hi all,
I have been using Dual boot fro Past 4 months with Linux and Windows . My
Windows crashed now .. When I put the CD its not Installing. One of my
friend told to delete the Linux Partitions and Try that . I cant delete
Linux Coz Most of My Program and Development Files are there .. Please Is
there a solution where I can reinstall my windows without affecting the
linux .
Your friend may not be wrong entirely. I've not installed & used any
recent versions of Windows any later than WinNT, so I may be wrong.
During the MSDOG, Windows 9x/NT days, these OSes had trouble if
there's more than one primary partition. So, the trick is to hide the
any other primary partition (at least FreeBSD since it can't boot off
a non-primary) from Windows and install Windows.
There are quite of lot of partition managers that can do this for you.
So, the answer is, yes you don't need to remove GNU/Linux for
installing Windows.
