Okay now.
It is a long time since I sent a non technical mail for technical people.
Right now my life is revolving around hacking just as it did since 2003.
Hacking is the art of programming in such a way that you enjoy it so much that
you lose your interest in everything else.
In order to attain that joy and gratification one has to patiently
learn programming for many many years.
Just coding and doing some work for the sake of doing some college
project or fulfilling some professional
need cannot be qualified as hacking.
That is just contract labor.
Hacking happens when you solve a problem for your own personal need;
to improve your productivity,
to upload your photographs to facebook after writing a script with
ImageMagick convert(1) or using
mplayer or mpg3info to process your audios or some such thing.
Hacking enhances the richness and quality of life, the same way Hindu
religion gives us so many
different richness all around us thereby defining an entire nation
and even many nations.
Hacking is the art of coding using scientific principles and
mathematical accuracy with the artistic
elegance of a painter.
Alright now I really have to get back to work.
Hacking that is.
