The problem in my case is different (I think). The device mounts,
everything works well... Once in a while, after a long time, it just

I guess I found the reason behind the problem. I recently bought a usb
hub, that came with provision for external power supply. Now when i
connect the external hard disk to usb hub, and connect the usb hub to my
laptop, the disk never stops working, even after repeated use for
weeks.
So the missing component before was the external power supply to the USB
cable. Hope that helps you too RamKumar.
heated up.. I am not hardware expert, but I guess those in the list
could point at what the problem could be...
