One of my friends is looking for a open source billing software(GST
enabled) for his silk shop.
They will use ubuntu desktops in 4 billing terminals, if they find a
suitable billing software.
Looks like ERPNext will support multi-user, barcode scanning, GST, card
payments, touch screen terminal, receipt printing, inventory
management, User and Role Security (Admin, Manager, Clerk) and reports out
of the box.
While Gnukhata supports GST, not sure it can scale to handle multi-user
well. Needs to be evaluated. Also, barcode scanning and card payments may
have to be custom integrated.
However, if you need cashbox, customer display, high speed checkouts and so
on, a dedicated Point-of-sale (POS) software may be needed. uniCenta oPOS
is open source (GPL v3) <

and can be evaluated. This is being used in many countries and so GST can
be configured. However, integration with Accounting / ERP software will
have to be done separately.
