Hmm., subversion is not getting outdated because of distributed version
control systems (DVCS). Though DVCS seems very good for projects
collaborated over the Internet., for software houses, subversion is
still a good choice. I dont see how DVCS will fit into or improve
productivity for software firms.

Your post implies that the "distributed" nature of these SCM's is what 
makes them appealing to some projects. While that is indeed true it does 
not convey the whole picture. Performance for example is beneficial to 
any type of project whether done over the net or in house. Software 
firms frequently do projects across multiple centers distributed 
globally these days.
