yep.
Or is there any other way to protect the

edit the /boot/grub/menu.lst, and delete lines pertaining to recovery mode.
all it does is to prevent the recovery mode from getting displayed while
booting.
even then, one can even edit the entry for normal mode while booting, pass
on the arguments for recovery mode and enter in that mode.
