universities/colleges in the
US/UK/Germany/Australia/Japan...
Actually, the Insitutional goals listed above, are from the Madras
University Act, 1923, and the others in India too have similar objects.
Many free software components were researched and developed in
Universities and making it a standard practice should not be too
difficult.
But a reminder is in place: Ancient India was far ahead in research
because of a strong foundation built upon quest for truth.
Tarka-samgraha is a 400 year old commentary on more ancient "flame war"
manuals that lay the basics for any research. Many of our ancient
works on philosophy and research have the last say on the subject, and
the reason why Marvin Minsky is researching them for his new book. If
the fire and passion for truth makes a come back - for a start, we will
have high quality flame wars, research, prosperity and life which should
solve many problems we face today.
