What are the conf for the xorg conf file? The video card can best be changed,
see http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/showthread.php?t=480441 for a ;
similar bad experience with this card. You can also follow this thread to see
if it gets resolved, it already did partially by getting up a 2d display rather
than a 3-d.So, you can install perhaps in text mode and then edit the x conf.
Reg hard drives not found , maybe you had it searching for IDE HDD instead of
SATA. Also , further you can try reformatting from the end of free space rather
than the start of free space, sometimes that may sort out HDD install troubles.

When I try installing FC 5 on this machine the screen gets filled up
with colour grains. This happens when the graphical interface for the
installation starts.
I tried installing Red Hat 9 it gave a message saying no hard drives
found in the machine.
