Hello All!
I'm using RH 9. Today I configured my DNS server by editing /etc/named.conf
file.
Then I created forward lookup zone file and reverse lookup zone file under
/var/named as per RH doc.
If I start my DNS its working fine, no problem. But when I stop it it says "
Stopping named service " but doesn't give [OK] message and comming back to
prompt.
When I start the service again it says named service is already running.
If I put netstat -an|grep 53 after I issue service named stop its shows
TIME_WAIT against port 53.
So If I do any changes in my configuration file i need to reboot the machine. (
I don't want to use reload command)
But once i restart my machine named service is running and serving the requests.
what will be the problem.
Plz help me.
