Well - one could consider Ray Ozzie, who is replacing Bill Gates as the
Chief SW Architect to be one of the FLOSS-friendly types, too - he was
at Lotus. They've also fired the key anti-Linux guy - Martin Taylor of
Microsoft Live, and the guy behind the "Get the Facts" FUD (they
wouldn't have fired him unless they actually lost business due to his
actions - which they did, of course):

Once Ballmer goes (not too far off, given institutional unhappiness
with the M$ stock price under his watch), there's nothing stopping
M$ from turning into a FLOSS company. Who would have thought
that FLOSS would infiltrate M$ from inside and take it over?
It's largely irrelevant now, given that M$ has lost its way, but it
would still be helpful to have the marketing/financial muscle of
M$ behind FLOSS, like IBM.
