Prey is an open-source anti-theft solution. http://preyproject.com/
Extremely useful if your device is gone missing. With this tool, you can
create an online account in their website and register your Device ( Laptop
/ Smartphone ).
Once you login into your account, you will be taken to your dashboard and
you can find number of options. Highly recommended for Smartphones, but for
laptops, in-case if the Operating system is formatted, not sure if this
will help you out.
Binaries available for cross-platform, includes Gnu/Linux operating systems
& Android.
